KTH School of Architecture

I studied the KTH School of Architecture as a precedent analysis for the beginning of my Spring 2020 semester. My group and I examined the systems that went into creating a curvilinear building like this that was inset into an existing courtyard. The existing Royal Institute of Stockholm had a triangular courtyard that the new School of Architecture uses to imply it’s curves. My group and I produced a set of diagrams, presentation drawings, a 3D detail, and a diagrammatic model of the building to better understand the formal organization and structural properties.
